Giant Rabbit
Artist Gelatin created this giant rabbit back in 2005. It is located on a mountain hill (Colletto Fava) close to Bar La Baita above the village of Artesina, Piemonte Italy. This rabbit will be on display for the next 20 years and is ready for climbing. Have fun as you climb up over a giant ear and onto the face, take caution not to fall into the mouth. Taking around 5 years to stitch and stuff this giant makes a statement up close and from a far. No charge for admission, happy climbing.

Sarah Joncas – Tea Party Love
I was lucky enough to come across artist Sarah Joncas today and was delighted by her work! Her subjects are about the ever-evolving woman. A woman through whom she expresses her own experiences and who has been maturing along with her, from childhood through adulthood.
Sarah recognizes that, “our tools shape us as much as we shape them” and explores the concept of how technology affects us as human beings and also how we take it all for granted. She reaches into this realm through using symbols such as fish, fishbowls, electrical plugs, roses and snakes. Some of her women seem self destructive and hopeless. Others appear jaded, but with a fierce determination to press on with their new-found “grit”, using their contempt as motivation. Either way, there is a strength and wisdom in all of these women which is comfortably familiar.
Tim Burton at MOMA – Sunday Nov 22nd!
A quick last minute post for those of you who’s plans are still up in the air for the weekend. This Sunday, Nov 22nd at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in NYC, an exhibit will open featuring over 700 pieces of Tim Burton’s rarely seen works of art. Including, but not limited to drawings, paintings, storyboards, moving imagery, puppets and costumes and will cover nearly his entire life from adolescence into adulthood. Also on exhibit will be a film series covering his 27 years working in Hollywood as well as a number of movies from which he’s drawn inspiration. This exhibit will coincide with the release of his new book, also published by the Museum of Modern Art.
This event will run through April 26, 2010. It is surely one not to be missed!
Nicola Verlato
Nicola Verlato is an Italian born artist, currently living and working in Brooklyn, NY. In addition to his studies in fine arts, he was also trained as an architect and has produced many sculptures that have been inspired by his own paintings or photographs.
Influenced heavily by pop culture, video games, comics books, etc… he conjurs up the “unreal” in his mythical and at times, sexually explicit subjects. Almost all of his paintings are spirited with emotionally tormented, angst-filled souls which remind me of artist, Van Arno.
